Australia Day – 26^th January 2010 may seem to be a long way off, however nominations for Australia Day Awards are now open.   

The 2010 Australia Day celebrations and awards ceremony will be held at Dorrigo.  An entertaining street party is planned for the morning with the citizenship ceremony and awards to commence at 12 noon. “I encourage everyone to give some thought to nominating a fellow community member or group in one of the seven award categories. 

The Shire Australia Day awards offer us the opportunity to recognise and honour our fellow community members who contribute so much to the wellbeing of our communities, plus recognising those talented individuals who excel in chosen fields” said Mayor Mark Troy.

Categories include:

Citizen of The Year

Young Citizen of The Year

Sportsperson of The Year

Junior Sportsperson of The Year

Community Event

Community Group

Team of The Year (New For 2010)
