A spontaneous gallery will be popping up in Urunga this week.
The former butcher shop on the corner of Urunga’s main streets has been transformed into an Arts Space. The gallery will feature works by local artists, sculptors and crafts folk, in an ongoing exhibition called ‘Choice Cuts’.
Local photographer Gethin Coles was approached by Bellingen Shire Council and offered the space to create a popup gallery.
“A popup gallery is ideal, because it gives exposure to local artists, supports the Creative Industries and helps the Council in promoting the space –and for the town, it helps brighten up busy corner in the Urunga CBD”, said Gethin.
He is joined by local Sculptors Adrienne Hmelnitsky and Nick Warfield and 2-D artists Christine Wilson, Sandy Brennan, Gail Cardow and W. Paula Whiteway.
The exhibition will open this week, but will have its formal opening night on Saturday 25th March at 5.30pm. All welcome.
The gallery is open daily from 10am-4pm Tuesday - Sunday until the end of April.
