Local Working Group Members for Queens Baton Relay Celebrations

A Local Working Group is being established to support the roll out of the celebrations to mark the Commonwealth Games Queens Baton Relay (QBR) coming to Bellingen on 1 February 2018. The Group will provide advice, develop strategies and facilitate consultation between the Gold Coast organising Committee (GOLDOC) and local stakeholders to maximise Local Government and community involvement in the Queens Baton Relay.

The Group will comprise of approximately eight (8) members who will meet on a regular basis (at least six meetings this year and additional meetings as determined necessary to fulfil its duties) with additional members brought in on an ad hoc basis when required.

Interested people who can represent a local tourism body and the arts and cultural community are invited to apply for membership of the Local Working Group. 

To be considered, people will need to

  • Be a resident in the Bellingen Shire,
  • A demonstrated participation in either arts and cultural activities or been part of a tourism group in the Bellingen Shire for a minimum of 2 years,
  • have experience of being part of a committee and
  • A commitment to the successful delivery of the Queens Baton Relay event in Bellingen.
