Draft Shirewide LEP on Exhibition
The purpose of the Draft Plan is to implement the State Government's new Standard Local Environmental Plan (LEP) in Bellingen Shire.
Council is required to implement this in accordance with the Standard Instrument (Local Environmental Plans) Order 2006. The Standard LEP contains a uniform set of planning controls to be applied across the State and introduces a new regime of land use zones.
The Draft LEP also aims to implement the majority of the land zoning recommendations of the Bellingen Shire Growth Management Strategy and the heritage listing recommendations of the Bellingen Shire Heritage Study.
The plan is on exhibition from 8th October 2009 to 4th December 2009.
