Safety Improvement Works - Waterfall Way Thora

  • Project typeSafety Improvement Works

Council is working with Transport for New South Wales (TfNSW) to undertake safety works and enhance facilities at select areas on Dorrigo Mountain.

Works are to commence late-November on four work sites between the Newell Falls and Little North Arm Road west areas. The objectives are to construct four (4) lanes approximately 150m in length for slow vehicles to pull over to the left so other vehicles can pass, whilst improving signage and extending road barriers. Project working hours will be between 7:00 am to 6:00 pm weekdays, and from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm Saturdays as required.

During construction works, a continual emphasis will be placed on road user safety, whilst easing congestion and minimising disruption with smaller traffic control set ups. Lane closures and a 40km/h speed limit will be in place during work hours, motorists should allow up to 5 minutes extra travel time during this work.

Council appreciates the works may cause an inconvenience, but ask for your cooperation during this time. The project is scheduled for completion in April 2022, weather permitting.

Further information on these works can be accessed here(PDF, 120KB).
