About the Project

Following successful applications under Disaster Funding Recovery Arrangements Program, Bellingen Shire Council has engaged Fortade to undertake restoration works of three damaged river bank sections and road along Keevers Drive following severe flood events. Keevers Drive links the villages of Raleigh, Repton and Myelstrom to the Pacific Highway. The landslips have occurred along the riverbank and have impacted Keevers Drive pavement, forcing the closure of the southbound lane.

Project Scope

Restoration works will include;

  • Clearing roadside and riverbank vegetation
  • Excavation of the riverbank
  • Placement and compaction of embankment material and placing geofabric and rocks scour protection along the restored riverbank
  • Full width pavement will be reconstructed over 70m road section.

Community Impacts

Both lanes are now reopened.
