Traffic change for Sunday 22 March - Bellingen event and Waterfall Way

With Transport for NSW announcement that Waterfall Way is now open to traffic under current conditions, it has some implications to the traffic control and detours for the Bob Brown Foundation March for Forests:

Sunday 22 March from 10am to 1pm

 

Road closures and detours

During this time, Church Street and Hyde Street will be affected, with traffic control and detours in place. Vehicles travelling along Hyde Street will be diverted via Ford, Park and Oak streets.

NSW Police will be on site to assist with event management.

Heavy vehicles are advised to avoid travelling during the event period where possible and plan trips outside of the event detour window (10am-1pm),The detour routes are not suitable for through heavy vehicle movements. Heavy vehicles may be required to wait at traffic control until it is safe to pass.

Travel advice

With Waterfall Way now open, higher traffic volumes are expected through the Bellingen township during the event.

  • Allow extra travel time and plan your trip ahead
  • Follow traffic control directions and signage at all times
  • Heavy vehicles are advised to avoid travelling between 10am and 1pm, where possible
  • Alternative local streets are not suitable for heavy vehicle detours, and vehicles may be required to wait at traffic control until it is safe to pass
