Update on the slip at Kalang Road

In response to Geotechnical advice Council have engaged specialist slope stability contractors to commence works stabilizing the embankment slip from next week.

It is anticipated works will commence on Wednesday 13 April, weather permitting (noting this contractor is currently completing emergency works in the Lismore LGA and weather impacts there may impact that start date).

Works are anticipated to take a total of 6 weeks to full completion, with delays and periods of closure required to facilitate the works. Details of the these will be provided through social media / Council website and VMS boards located on site.

Noting the current load limit of 4t remains and 24 hours monitoring of the site will remain in place in the short term.
