The Bellingen Museum is run by volunteers of the Bellingen Valley Historical Society which was formed in 1962.
Monday, Wednesday and Thursday - 10.00am to 2.00pm
Other days by appointment or when volunteers are available.
Entry Fee: $4.00 for adults and Children Free.
Morgo Street, Urunga (opposite the Caravan Park) is currently closed as a result of flood damage.
It is hoped the centre will reopen to the public by the end of July 2010.
Bellingen Museum has over 7,000 photographs, many of them originals. Particulars of location, persons, photographer and event have been recorded where possible by volunteers and the photographs have then been filed and recorded in indexes available at the research desk.
The indexes not only record the photographs but also people and events recorded in the collection of newspapers. These may be viewed using the Microfilm-Reader Printer. Other records are on file in the Braithwaite Room.
Volunteers have also undertaken to interview older residents of the Valley and these oral histories may be used for research purposes.
Society Meetings are held the 4th Sunday of each month from 2.00 - 4.00pm, alternatively at Bellingen Museum or CWA Rooms at Urunga.
