The Master Locksmith Access Key (MLAK) is an innovative system that allows 24 hours a day access to public facilities (e.g. toilets for people with a disability, elevators at railway stations, National Park facilities, and adaptive playground equipment) using a universal lock.
There are a number of MLAK Key toilets within the North Coast and hinterland, as follows:
Maam Gaduying Park (in front of Council Chambers), Hyde Street
Bellingen Showground, Hammond Street, North Bellingen (accessible shower and toilet)
Palm Centre Shopping Centre, Harbour Drive Coffs Harbour
Woolgoolga Caravan Park, Beach Street
Tourist Information Centre, 82 Marsh Street
Surf Club, Bay Street
There will be a notice on the door of the toilet indicating where keys are kept after business hours.

Availability is restricted to people who have a mobility difficulty, people who hold a disability parking pass or who have written authority from:
- A doctor
- A Disability Service organisation
- A local Council
- A Communty Health Centre
- Manager of building with accessible toilet on site
