Fees and Charges at Council Waste Transfer Stations

Waste Transfer Station

Over recent years Council has made significant upgrades at its Waste Management Facilities.

From 1 July 2018 there will be changes in the way fees are charged at the waste facilities.

Three main changes are:

  • Rural residents who have access rights associated with the waste management fee levied under the NSW Local Government Act 1993, will receive in the post a Waste Facility Access Charge card. If you have not received your card by mid July and believe you are entitled to one – please contact Council.  This card allows rural residents to dispose of domestic waste without incurring further charges.

  • Non Shire residents who use Bellingen Council waste facilities will be charged a higher rate and fees and changes will now be charges at all Council facilities, including the Bellingen Transfer Station.

  • All users of Council waste facilities will be required to present either a current form of ID or their Waste Facility Access Card  before entering. Anyone who does not have ID or is not willing to present it will be denied entry to site.
