The recently held FoodCON2017 at the Coffs Harbour Showground was a great success. The event brought all players in the food industry together to network, showcase their produce and gain some skills in developing their business.

FoodCON2017 is a new iteration of the annual Mid North Coast Food Forum which ran for three years and was traditionally held at Bonville Golf Course.

FoodCON 2017 delivers a new format with a different venue to allow many more producers to participate and showcase the wonderful products they produce and package.

This new event is widely supported by councils across the Mid North Coast and the State Government. FoodCON 2017 is part of a broader initiative to develop the region’s reputation for producing excellent produce. Coffs Coast Harvest is a new brand – launched at the event, to assist anyone in the food game to market their product under a common banner. This is part of the work initiated by the Coffs Coast Food Collective – a group focused on building the region’s food industry.

“Bellingen Shire Council is very pleased to support FoodCON 2017,” said General Manager, Liz Jeremy. “This initiative brings industry and government together to work cooperatively for a common cause. Food is a key economic driver for the region with an exciting future. Working as a collective will maximise our chances for building a successful brand and progressing the prospects or our local food industry,” added Ms. Jeremy.
