Free Green Waste Disposal - Hazard Reduction

Due to the success of the free green waste disposal for residential garden waste offered at the Raleigh and Dorrigo Waste Management Centres, Council will be extending this to 10 December 2019.

This is to encourage all Bellingen Shire residents to clean up and clear all excess garden waste from their property and land.

Councils Invasive Plants Inspectors have recently completed control works on the core infestation on the Dorrigo Plateau for the highly invasive toxic plant Red Cestrum (Cestrum elegans).

Acknowledging the significant impact of the recent bushfires on our community, Bellingen Shire Council Mayor, Cr Dominic King calls for the State Government to place a moratorium on logging until the fire emergency is over and there is time to assess the forestry estate.
