Bellingen Shire Council recently acknowledged the generous contribution made by volunteers across our Shire.
Community volunteers were invited to attend a special afternoon tea at the Waterfall Way Visitors Centre to mark National Volunteers Week 2018. As a lead up to the event, a number of individual volunteers were nominated by their peers to receive a special acknowledgement.
As well as having a positive impact on the community, volunteering is mentally stimulating and provides opportunities to meet new people and learn new skills. This in turn can increase happiness and wellbeing as well as reduce stress, anxiety and depression.
If you would like to volunteer at Council’s Visitor Information Centre or on one of Council’s many committees please contact Michael Grieve, Manager Economic and Business Development on 6655 7300.
