As part of the Timber Bridge Renewal and Rehabilitation Program, Council will be undertaking geotech investigations of subsurface conditions of Kalang River Bridge (commonly known as Hanleys Bridge) located 7.9km along Bowraville Road (just past the intersection of Hains Lane).
These works will necessitate the full road closure of Bowraville Road at this location.
The road closure, weather permitting will be as follows:
- Works commencing on Tuesday, 22 January 2019, weather permitting with full road closure at this bridge between the hours of 9am to 5pm.
Council respectfully requests motorists and residents to make alternate arrangements and plan their trips around this day closure. Alternate routes are available via Giinagay Way/Martells Road, Urunga.
Variable message boards will be placed allowing 2 weeks prior notice at the intersection of Kalang and Bowraville Roads and the intersection of Martells and Bowraville Roads. Signage advising of this road closure will also be placed at the intersection of South Arm and Bowraville Roads.
Council apologises for any inconvenience caused while Council performs these essential investigations.
