Due to the low number of responses this community survey has been extended until the 13th June.
Bellingen Shire Council is undertaking a review of its weed management services – and we want to hear from you.
Weed management is a critical service that helps protect our Shire’s unique biodiversity, native ecosystems, and productive agricultural land. Invasive plants can cause significant environmental and economic damage, which is why appropriate management is essential.
Council delivers these services in two key ways:
- As a Local Control Authority under the NSW Biosecurity Act 2015, and
- As a public land manager, responsible for managing invasive plant species across Council-managed land.
This review is an opportunity to evaluate the communities’ views on Councils delivery of these services and to ensure we’re informed on the needs of our community and the environment.
We’re seeking feedback from residents, landholders, and other stakeholders to help us identify what’s working well and where improvements can be made. The insights gathered from this survey will directly inform the outcome of this review process to direct how Council plans and delivers weed management services across the Shire.
Your voice matters. Together, we can protect the health and resilience of Bellingen Shire’s landscapes for years to come.
The survey closes at 5pm on Friday 13 June 2025.
