Urunga Precinct Upgrades
Exciting improvements are being delivered across the Urunga Precinct to enhance connectivity, safety, and amenity for residents and visitors. These projects are proudly funded in partnership with the Australian and NSW Governments.
Urunga Boardwalk Upgrades
The iconic Urunga Boardwalk is being revitalised with funding from the NSW Government’s Crown Reserves Improvement Fund, the Australian Government’s Growing Regions Program – Round 2, and Bellingen Shire Council. Additional funding has been secured through the NSW Disaster Recovery Funding Assistance Program to reconstruct the southern arm of the boardwalk, which was damaged in the 2022 flood event.
Urunga CBD Upgrade
The Urunga CBD is set to undergo significant streetscape improvements, thanks to a major investment from all levels of government. The project has secured $1.1 million from the NSW Government’s Stronger Country Communities Fund and $5.26 million through the Australian Government’s Growing Regions Program. Bellingen Shire Council is also contributing $300,000 toward the project as part of a co-funding arrangement. These upgrades will improve accessibility, safety, and amenity in the town centre—creating a more connected and welcoming space for the Urunga community and its visitors. The project is scheduled for completion in 2027.
Shared Pathway & Footpath Replacement
A $3.36 million investment through the NSW Government’s Get NSW Active Program will deliver safer, more accessible shared pathways and footpaths across Urunga – improving walkability, encouraging active transport and strengthening connections across the town.
