This community to consultation has closed.
Thank you to everyone who took part in the consultation for the Disability Inclusion Action Plan (DIAP) 2027–2031.
We appreciate the time and ideas shared by people with disability, carers, families, service providers and community organisations. Your lived experience helps us better understand what is working well in our community, where barriers still exist, and what needs to change.
Over the past 6 weeks, we heard from many people through surveys, workshops, submissions and conversations. Every contribution helps shape a more inclusive and accessible community for everyone.
What happens next?
Now that consultation has closed, we are moving into the next stage of developing the Disability Inclusion Action Plan.
We are reviewing all feedback shared by the community to understand key themes, priorities, and opportunities to improve access and inclusion across our community.This feedback will directly inform the Draft Disability Inclusion Action Plan (DIAP), which outlines Council’s proposed actions to support a more inclusive and accessible community over the next four years.
Draft Plan and next steps
Once prepared, the Draft DIAP will be presented to Council and then placed on public exhibition. This will give the community another opportunity to review the plan and provide further feedback before it is finalised.
We will also share a summary of what we heard during consultation, so the community can see how their input has helped shape the draft plan.
