About the project

Bellingen Shire Council received funding through the Multi-Sport Community Facility Fund aimed at creating places and facilities that enable communities to enjoy and take part in sport.

The Project includes the construction of two new multi-sport facilities to replace not fit for purpose existing amenity buildings.

Building One next to the Swim Centre services the core of Connell Park and includes four unisex changerooms, a changing places facility, a large canteen, ref room and club storage. Two of the change rooms are multi directional use to enable summer pool use and winter sport use. Building One also includes a separate public toilet to service the wider park and playground.

Building Two next to the netball courts services the east of Connell Park and includes two unisex changerooms, canteen, ref rooms and club storage.

The works also included upgrades to utilities and access and connectivity of Connell Park.
