Notice of Casual Vacancy – Bellingen Shire Council Countback Election

Following the resignation of Councillor Tree, a casual vacancy has arisen on Bellingen Shire Council.

In accordance with the Local Government Act 1993, the NSW Electoral Commission will conduct a countback election to fill the vacant councillor position. A countback election is a method of filling a casual vacancy using the ballot papers from the previous local government election, rather than holding a full by-election.

The NSW Electoral Commission has now issued a Notice of Casual Vacancy for the Bellingen Shire Council countback election.
