Recognising our Volunteers

To celebrate our volunteers Bellingen Shire Mayor, Cr Steve Allan is hosting two separate morning tea events to acknowledge the hard work that our volunteers undertake and thank them for their support in ensuring that visitors to our Shire and the whole of community have the best possible access to our halls, parks and reserves which benefit everyone.

Volunteer Thankyou events will be held in Dorrigo on Tuesday 21 June at the CWA Hall, 22 Cudgery Street from 10am - 12noon and the other in Mylestom at the Mylestom Hall, 18 - 20 River Street on Tuesday 28 June 10am - 12noon. This year’s theme for National Volunteer Week was ‘Better Together’.

To celebrate our volunteers Council also held three street stalls promoting volunteer opportunities throughout the week and advertised a listing of volunteer organisations looking for assistance in our local newspapers.

“Volunteers make such a valuable contribution to our community and at council they assist in the services we provide like running our Tourist Information Centres, management of community buildings and sports grounds and assisting at libraries across the Shire.” said Mayor Allan.
