Due to the heavy rainfall overnight and a high risk of moderate flooding across the Bellingen Shire Council has made the decision to close some of its services. Forecasts indicate the system will bring damaging winds, large surf, and heavy rainfall, with the potential for moderate flooding along the Bellinger and Kalang Rivers over the coming days.
In response, Council will be closing or modifying certain services effective from Wednesday 21 May to prioritise public safety and assist emergency preparations. Residents are urged to review their emergency plans, stay informed, and take necessary precautions. Further updates on service closures and emergency support will be provided as conditions develop.
