New Deputy Mayor for Bellingen Shire

The election of a new Bellingen Shire Council Deputy Mayor was on the agenda of this month’s Ordinary Council Meeting and Cr Cook was popularly elected to the position and brings to the role a wealth of knowledge and experience regarding the needs of local agriculture and food production, small business and industry.
Bellingen Shire Mayor, Cr Steve Allan, congratulated Cr Cook on her appointment to the Deputy’s position and said he was looking forward to working with her across the range of opportunities and challenges our Shire presents.
Cr Cook said she was extremely pleased to have been elected as Deputy Mayor at the Ordinary Council Meeting held on Tuesday 25th January.
“I look forward to supporting the Mayor, Cr Allan, in his role and I would like to thank my fellow Councillors for the nomination and opportunity to represent them and my community for the next 12 months in this position.”
