Lift the Lid on Mental Health Walk in Dorrigo

The Dorrigo Rotary Club is proud to announce its collaboration with Bellingen Shire Council and Local Mental Health Organisations for a community-wide Mental Health Walk from Dangar Falls, scheduled to take place on Sunday 15 October 2023. This event aims to raise awareness about mental health issues, reduce stigma, and foster a sense of togetherness in support of individuals carers and families affected by mental health challenges.
Mental health is a vital aspect of overall well-being, and its importance cannot be overstated. The Rotary Club of Dorrigo recognises the significance of addressing mental health issues within our community and has teamed up with Council, Mission Australia, Mid North Coast LHD, Carers NSW and the Neighbourhood Centres of Bellingen Shire to organise a special event that emphasises the importance of mental wellness.

Entry Fee: $30 for adults. Kids 15 and under walk for free. Early bird adult ticket sales before 29/09/2023 will receive a free t-shirt!
Registration: Participants are encouraged to register in advance at www.liftthelidwalk.com.au/dorrigo to ensure a seamless experience.
It’s a walk not a race and covers the 6km path meandering from Dangar Falls, along the beautiful Bielsdown River out to Ray Cork Park and return. The route is pedestrian, pedal, walker, mobility scooter and stroller friendly. Walk as little or as much as you like and return at any point. Dogs on leash are welcome and encouraged.
If you are unable to participate, but wish to support this great initiative, then you can SPONSOR a walker as a choice in your registration. The sponsored walker (a local student) will acknowledge that they are walking for you on their t-shirt (if you register before 29 September 2023).
Following the walk, we'll gather at Dangar Falls for a BBQ lunch, complete with a sausage sizzle and information stalls offering valuable resources to take home regarding mental health.
