Notice is given of the public exhibition of a Planning Proposal for the amendment of Bellingen Local Environmental Plan (LEP) 2010.

Land within the W1 Natural Waterway and W2 Recreational Waterway Zones

The Planning Proposal

The planning proposal aims to rezone land acquired by Bellingen Showground to RE1 – Public Recreation, rectify a provision applying to Waterway Zones that unintentionally frustrates certain subdivisions, rezone land at Urunga to reflect environmental constraint and introduce a provision permitting the erection of a dwelling on land at Darkwood.

The Planning Proposal and other required documents will be available for viewing from Thursday 14 October 2021 until Friday 19 November 2021. 

Please note that this exhibition is subject to the COVID-19 Legislation Amendment (Emergency Measures) Bill 2020 and Section 10.18 of the EP&A Act 1979 and no hard copies of the relevant documentation will be made available for inspection.

Council invites interested parties to make a written submission regarding the Planning Proposal. Submissions will be received up until 4.30pm on Friday 12 November 2021.

The Relevant Planning Authority (RPA) for the Planning Proposal is Bellingen Shire Council, and Council has also been provided with delegated authority to make the LEP.
