Community Consultation: Summervilles Road Bridges Replacement

Bellingen Shire Council is seeking to apply for funding through the Safer Local Roads and Infrastructure Program to replace two single-lane bridges on Summervilles Road.  These bridges play a critical role in ensuring Summervilles Road remains a reliable alternate route when Waterfall Way is closed due to emergencies such as bushfires, landslides, or car accidents. 

The proposed upgrades aim to improve the safety and functionality of Summervilles Road, ensuring it can handle increased traffic volumes and provide a secure route for emergency vehicles and essential services during road closures. To strengthen our application for this grant, we are seeking input from the community on how these upgrades would impact your travel, safety, and overall road network resilience. Your feedback is invaluable in helping Council ensure Summervilles Road meets the needs of residents, visitors, and businesses in Bellingen Shire. 

The proposed single lane bridge replacements are located at Summervilles Creek Bridge west of McGraths Road and Summervilles Bridge west of Frieda Hicks Drive.
