During the June Ordinary Meeting, Council resolved to place proposed special rates on public exhibition for a minimum period of 28 days.
Council is proposing to introduce special rates to recover costs associated with connecting the Norco site at Raleigh to Council’s reticulated sewer network.
Pursuant to sections 551, 552, 495(1) and 495(2)(c) of the NSW Local Government Act 1993, Council is proposing to levy the following special rates on Lot 3 DP 1202414:
a) A special rate titled “Cost for Norco Sewer Pump Station and Associated Works” for the sum of $185,749/year to be levied annually for a period of 10 years.
This special rate is being created under section 551, 552 & 495 (1) & 495 (2)(c) of the NSW Local Government Act 1993. This special rate will be levied on Lot 3 DP 1202414. This special rate is to cover the infrastructure costs of installing a sewer pump station adjacent to the Norco site and to install a sewer rising main to connect the pump station to the larger reticulation network and ultimately the Urunga Sewerage Treatment Plant.
b) A special rate titled “Cost for Norco Sewerage Ancillary Works” for the sum of $904,020 to be levied as a one-off payment.
This special rate is being created under section 551, 552 & 495 (1) & 495 (2)(c) of the NSW Local Government Act 1993. This special rate will be levied on Lot 3 DP 1202414. This special rate is to cover the infrastructure costs to transport Norco waste and treating it before discharge. It includes several sewer pump stations that have been upgraded and the expansion of the Urunga Sewer Treatment Plant.
