SUBMISSIONS CLOSED

During its July Ordinary Meeting, Council resolved to place on public exhibition the proposed financial assistance to Harry Jacks Brewing Co, a brewery and restaurant development located at 1 Cudgery Street, Dorrigo.

The proposed financial assistance would require 50% of the Section 64 water and sewer developer charges to be paid upfront with the remaining charges deferred for a maximum period of 18 months.

The estimated section 64 water and sewer developer charges for the development are $326,123.1 and the deferred amount is approximately $163,061.56.

Water and sewer usage would be reviewed following 12 months of normal operation, and the applicable developer charges would then be reconciled in accordance with the terms of the proposed arrangement.

The proposal does not waive the developer charges. However, the benefit arising from the deferred payment arrangement constitutes estimated non-cash financial assistance of approximately $15,140.27.

Council is considering the proposal as a means of supporting economic development, investment and employment in Dorrigo. In accordance with section 356 of the Local Government Act 1993, Council is providing at least 28 days’ public notice before deciding whether to grant the proposed financial assistance.

Council resolved at its meeting on 15 July 2026 to publicly exhibit the proposal. Council has not yet approved the financial assistance. Following the exhibition period, Council will consider all submissions received before deciding whether to approve, amend or refuse the proposed arrangement.
