Public Exhibition Daft No Spray Policy

At its Ordinary Meeting on Wednesday 19 August 2026, Bellingen Shire Council resolved to place the Draft No Spray Policy on public exhibition.

The draft policy outlines guidelines for the management and administration of a ‘No Spray Register’, allowing property owners and residents to request that vegetation on Council managed verges, reserves, or other Council land directly abutting their property not be treated with chemical herbicides.

The plan outlines the process for residents to apply for inclusion on the register, the criteria Council will use to assess applications, and the obligations of residents whose applications are approved.

We invite you to review the draft plan and share your feedback. Community input is a vital part of this process and will help shape the final version of the plan before it is presented to Council for adoption.

Application Fee and Administrative Cost

The proposed fee for an initial application and renewal to the no spray register is $100.

The proposed fee for no spray signage is $45 per sign.
