This project was funded through the Australian Governments Remote Roads Upgrade Pilot Program (RRUPP). 

Community Impacts

The new bridge is now open to traffic. 

About the Bridge

Council Bridge Crew has replaced an old 3-cell culvert with a dual lane bridge. The new 8.5m length bridge is approximately 500mm higher, greatly increasing the capacity of the waterway crossing to improve the flood immunity for Kalang Road.
