Creek Lane before upgrade

Council is upgrading Creek Lane to improve the pavement surface and support improved pedestrian outcomes. The project includes full pavement reconstruction, drainage upgrades, a new pedestrian foot path along the extent of Creek Lane and a continuous pedestrian link between Hyde Street and Bellingen Park via the existing alleyway.

To support the inclusion of safe, dedicated pedestrian facilities, the proposed design includes one-way access between Creek Lane and Church Street with minor amendments to the car park design also proposed.

These works will enhance access between the town centre and Bellingen Park, benefiting locals and visitors attending markets, community gatherings, and sporting events.

Timeline 

Construction is expected to commence on the project in the second quarter of 2026.
