About the Project

Bellingen Shire Council secured funding for the upgrade of Short Cut Road through the NSW Government's Fixing Country Roads Program which focuses on regional freight projects. Short Cut Road is a key road used for freight movement from the Raleigh Industrial Estate to other local roads and the Pacific Highway. The upgrade was necessary to improve the safety, resilience, and overall condition of the road, including widening and resealing.

Timeframe

Work commenced in late May 2025 and was completed in late October 2025. Construction was completed during standard working hours from 7am–5pm Monday to Friday. Notification of works changes occurred via letterbox drop, Variable Message signs (VMS) and social media posts.
