Interest Charges

Interest will be charged when you fail to pay your rate notice or rate instalment by the due date. Interest accrues daily, starting from the first day after the due date. The rate of interest is set by Council but cannot exceed State Government regulation percentages. The best way to avoid being charged interest on your rates is to make sure payments are made before the due date. The interest percentage will be shown on the front of your rates notice.

PLEASE ENSURE THE CORRECT BILLER CODE IS ENTERED WHEN MAKING PAYMENT TO AVOID INTEREST CHARGES ACCRUING ON OUTSTANDING AMOUNTS.

Interest charges will not be reversed due to incorrect payment details.
