Bowerhouse Community Reuse Shop
The Bowerhouse Community Reuse Shop sells quality used, recycled and second hand products that have been salvaged before going to landfill.
Residents are encouraged to drop off unwanted but reusable items at the Reuse Shop but please note all items will be viewed by the Waste Attendants before being accepted to ensure they are in an acceptable condition for sale.
Bellingen Shire Council in partnership with MIDWASTE host free 'workshops throughout the year. Watch this space for upcoming events.

Learn how to make your own native bee hotel from recycled materials, and how to identify our native Australian bees. Please note there are limited places, so if you book a spot please turn up on the day. Home Furniture Repair
Saturday 21st October 2023 -1pm to 3:30pm, Bowerhouse, 146 Short Cut Road, Raleigh.
Do you have a few furniture projects lying around but not sure where to start? Come along to this FREE workshop to learn how to give a new life to preloved furniture, for example an old wooden chair or garden bench.
Basic Plumbing at Home
Saturday 4th November 2023 - 1pm to 3:30pm, Bowerhouse, 146 Short Cut Road, Raleigh.
With a dry Spring and Summer on the horizon, it is vitally important to save water and fix leaks. Come and learn how to change tap washers and O-rings, deal with stiff garden taps, use plumber’s tape, and do simple gutter repairs and replacement.
Bike Repair Drop-In Session - THIS WORKSHOP HAS FINISHED
Saturday 25th March 2023 - 11.30am – 3.30pm, 146 Short Cut Road, Raleigh.
Drop into the Bowerhouse with your bike for some rapid repairs and maintenance! Our experienced bike mechanics will show you how to fix it and complete simple repairs on your bike. Please note you do not need to book for the bike drop-in session, just show up on the day during the times mentioned above.
Saturday 1st April 2023 - 12.30pm – 3.30pm, 146 Short Cut Road, Raleigh.
Take the first step to a more sustainable wardrobe. In this workshop you will learn how to undertake a range of clothing repairs and upcycling techniques. This will involve using sewing machines, and hand stitching. Beginners welcome!
Bowerhouse Borrow Kits
In an effort to help reduce disposable cups and plates, the Bowerhouse has put together a range of items that are available to borrow for festivals and large community events.
