The Coffs Coast Bush Fire Management Committee (BFMC) is excited to announce the completion of the newly revised Coffs Coast Bush Fire Risk Management Plan (BFRMP). Designed to address the growing concerns of residents and safeguard our cherished coastal region, this comprehensive document presents a strategic blueprint for managing bush fire risks and proposes effective treatments to minimize and mitigate potential hazards.

The BFRMP serves as a crucial resource that meticulously maps and describes the level of bush fire risk across our area, as well as identifies assets in jeopardy. By assessing the level of risk and establishing treatment strategies, the plan sets forth a path to reduce vulnerability and outlines the responsibilities of key stakeholders involved in executing the proposed treatments.

Inspector Sandra Huer, speaking on behalf of the Coffs Coast Bush Fire Management Committee, emphasised the importance of community engagement, stating, "All residents across the Coffs Coast should review this plan to ensure their fire concerns are addressed. We encourage everyone to submit their feedback, as it will contribute to the development of a robust strategy to protect our beloved Coffs Coast."

To facilitate public involvement, the draft BFRMP is now available for review on the official Coffs Coast Bush Fire Management Committee website at rfs.nsw.gov.au/plan-and-prepare/managing-bush-fire-risk/bush-fire-management-committees/coffs-coast
