There will be traffic control on the road periodically, meaning there may be some delays through bridge work zones. During any major disruptions, notifications to the community will be provided via online channels and VMS boards.
About the Bridge
Cob o Corn bridge is located on Reid's Road, Bellingen. The current timber bridge was built during the 1960s and is ageing and showing signs of deterioration. The new bridge will be 18.5 m in length, a single lane concrete structure, which will improve the integrity of the bridge and reduce recurrent maintenance costs into the future. The new bridge is currently being constructed adjacent to the existing timber bridge to ensure community access is maintained, piling works began in August 2022.
