Timeframe

The design period for this project is due for completion in FY23/24. Construction timeframes are yet to be determined.

About the Project

Lower Bielsdown Road is a one way in and out road that meanders through the very dense vegetation of the Junuy Juluum and Cascade National Park. Bellingen Shire Council was successful in its Fixing Local Roads (Round 3) grant application and received funding to renew the very poor areas of surface condition. This project will help to significantly reduce the ongoing maintenance cost and provide a safer, more reliant network while supporting the regional development of our community.

Project Scope

  • Minor vegetation clearing
  • Replacement (where required) and extension of drainage pipes
  • Minor pavement reconstruction
  • Re-sealing of road surface

Community Impacts

There will be traffic control on the road periodically, meaning there may be some delays through work zones. During any major disruptions, notifications to the community will be provided via online channels and VMS boards.
