Dorrigo Library and Community Hall: Temporary Closures for Upgrades

In a momentous decision just before the holiday season, Council officially approved the much-anticipated upgrade of the Dorrigo Community Hall and Library extension, marking a significant milestone for the community. 

These transformative projects are made possible through funding from the NSW Government's Bushfire Local Economic Recovery Fund (BLERF) and the State Library Funding, along with support from the Building and Infrastructure Reserves.  

With construction slated to commence in the coming weeks, the Dorrigo Library building is set to undergo renovations from Monday, 5 February until the end of July 2024. The last trading day for the library will be Saturday, 3 February 2024. 

During this renovation period, a temporary library will be established at Hickory House, featuring reduced operating hours. The temporary library is scheduled to commence operations on Tuesday, 13 February. Efforts are underway to redirect the Dorrigo Library phone number to a mobile, ensuring normal contact is maintained throughout the renovations. 

The proposed operating hours for the temporary library at Hickory House are as follows: 

  • Tues and Wed: 10am – 5pm (normal hours) 

  • Thurs and Fri: 10am – 1pm (reduced hours) 

  • Sat: 9.30am – 12pm (normal hours) 

In addition to the library renovations, the Dorrigo Hall is scheduled to close from 29 January 2024 until July 2024 with the exception of Dorrigo Dahlia Day hosted at the hall on Saturday, 9 and Sunday, 10 of February. The Hall is managed by a S355 Committee of Council. For all booking enquiries during this period, individuals are encouraged to contact Phil on 0433 071 952.
